Did you know that half of motorcycles on the road are riding on under-inflated tires? It’s true! So many great bikes come into the shop riding on low tire pressure —which hinders the riding experience and is not safe. So, how do you find the best pressure for your unique motorcycle? First off, DON’T use the numbers on the tire’s sidewall. The sidewall numbers indicate a maximum psi load which is NOT an every day healthy tire pressure. Individual bike manufacturers determine how much tire air pressure is needed for each specific model of motorcycle. Your bike’s owners manual will tell you the recommended psi amounts, so keep those numbers handy. Get yourself a tire pressure gauge to check pressure before and after your commute so you stay safe and ride smooth!
