LESS RIDING = MORE PROBLEMSWhen a motorcycle sits unridden for weeks or more; the fuel in the gas tank degrades in quality rather quickly - often at around 30 days. Stale gas (fuel that loses combustibility) clogs up a motorcycle’s system and can cause damage to the engine. If you ride your bike less than 5 hours a week, we recommend a fuel-stabilizing additive to prevent clogs. Or, for a more fun fix: ride more! Another common reason a bike won’t start up is due to a drained battery. An actively used bike battery can last 3 to 5 years, while a dormant one will lose its ability to power your bike. Riding more often will help lengthen your battery life and avoiding draining it. If you’re riding infrequently, we suggest hooking up your battery to a charger after each ride or disconnecting the battery ground wire once parked. For an even better solution: ride more! Now that you’re ready to keep your sit warm, don’t forget to schedule regular maintenance and inspection for optimum bike health.
